The VGK is a fluidic adaptive controlled artificial knee device.
It is a uni-axial knee joint with a mild stance flex feature to take that extra shock out of the leg. The VGK, depending on the socket shape and configuration can bend up to 155 degrees, allowing low down kneeling.
The joint is in default stance control, that means it is always ready to take your weight except the brief moment you cause it to bend naturally when in early swing phase. Indeed, as soon as the leg begins to straighten out, it is ready to help support your weight when you touch the ground with the foot. This often means support for a successful stumble recovery, or a resisted folding of the knee to give you time to find your balance.
When walking downstairs or down slope, leg over leg, the adjustable adaptive-fluidic yield gives prolonged support to your weight, and adapts to accommodate temperature changes in the unit, and to additional weight you may carry such as a suitcase.
When walking fast, the unique adaptive–fluidic swing phase control, is selected to produce the best symmetry in your gait which is well maintained throughout a wide range of walking speeds. This is even maintained when heavy shoes are worn, as the adaptive fluidics immediately know how to adjust the power without any delay required for ‘learning’.
Whereas the VGK allows you to ride a bicycle without further adjustments, for longer distances all resistance can be manually switched off for very light operation, yet this is backed up with an automatic adjustable safety feature would you need to suddenly stand on your prosthesis.
The VGK is made complete with a soft rubber knee-cap that helps prevent damage to clothing, and shaped in a narrow profile to create natural patella effect.
For your reassurance, all this is battery free, and hence ‘always on’ patented adaptive fluidic technology.

On special request a proximal interface can be provided to be compatible with a Through Knee lamination Anchor. A usefully low build height (when the cosmetic knee ball is not used, saving distal 6mm’s), and good knee flexion angle can be provided with this interface. (Use ‘VGK125A’ as order code).
